It's Going to be Excite...

Merle Haggard. Snoop Dogg. Me. Cathy. Peter. Katie. Morgan. Ali and a lot of other good bands. We are all going to be at Riot Fest in Chicago. 

I'm thinking it's going to be like some kind of summit. When all the coolest heads are gathered together something is bound to happen. I mean me, Cathy, Peter, Katie, Morgan and Ali gather in various combinations quite often but I am willing to guess that Snoop and Merle are not together all that much but then you never know. They might be neighbors in Malibu or they just might be the cosmic glue that when mixed in will all this other stuff gets things moving again. At my age I am all for getting things moving again. 

Anyway all are getting excited. I was scanning back through these pages and I thinking about bands I saw last year and I don't think I ever documented one of my favorites, The Grizzled Mighty. Here is a few photos I took:

These photos are from Sunday morning at the fest. If you don't know about these big old rock fest Sunday morning is a special shiny time that needs a jump start after everything that could happen happened on a Saturday night. I think this was what the Grizzled Mighty were thinking when they cranked up such a fuss on this bright morning. Making a heck of a noise for a duo what is there not to like? Big hairy guy on slide guitar playing my three favorite chords E, G and A with an occasional B thrown in just to show off and a barefoot hippie chick pounding the pee out of the drums. It is Sunday morning and this was a church of sorts. Only real difference was I wore ear plugs and made a bunch of photos of the preachers but then in the times of everyone with a camera in their pocket it might be more common than I think to make a picture of a preacher.
