Buzzards...
Hopefully this is not what the crowd will look like at this afternoon's 3pm Strat-Kat gig at Ellen Trout Zoo. It's just some buzzards looking for an easy meal and the found it in the form of a deer struck by a car.
May seem a morbid picture to some, but it seems to be a big spike in the deer population around here. I see plenty of deer in the neighboring game fence and it seems I am seeing wild ones more often than not when I take an evening walk and this is what happens when it's too many people and deer.
Just in the past week I have had two near misses. While pulling the boat one crossed so close I could see the scars on his hide. Another ran across in front of me on the way home from work, broad daylight, hot afternoon, just when it would seem time for a good deer nap.
