Gear Talk and Opening Bands...
People ask me about it all the time. The answer is almost always Fender musical instruments. I made this photo the other nigt at the King Khan and BBQ show. It's Khan's guitar and amp.
The amp is a standard off the shelf Fender Hot Rod Deville amp. I have the stinking suspicion Khan borrowed it from the opening band. By zooming it up close I can see its a Squier neck. The body is unusual, might be a Guild, something like the old Thunderbird Muddy Waters played or possibly one of the DeArmond models made by Fender and rebranded a Squier. What ever a great sounding, simple, cheap rig.
Speaking of the opening band they were a pretty good bunch of garage rockers from Austin Texas called the "Bad Lovers." Dear readers, I will never know if you are bad lovers or not but please don't advertise that fact.
