Pop's Yard Sale Find...

Pop and Geneva like Yard sales. They find cool stuff. Here's what they found when they were in town for the Mary/Miguel wedding. They had set up the trailer near Hank's Creek and spotted a yard sale. Twenty bucks got Pop a 1970-72 Sears guitar.

It's stamped made in USA. It's probably made by Harmony in a Chicago factory. It's one of 10 million guitars they made there between 1945 and 1975.

The "Atom" logo is actually a space age take on the letters S and R.  Not quite as trendy as the old Silvertone brand but I'd street busk in New Orleans with a guitar like this and think I was all funky and cool.

Made in USA. Current market value for this guitar is $90. Pop did ok. In the early 70s they were listed at $17.95 in the Sears catalog.

Here is another link and some info on the same guitar.   Posted by Picasa
