Is That What I Think It Is...

Sometimes a guy just likes cake. I mean really ape shat crazy likes it. And that's all he likes.

I know his mouth did not get that way playing a flute.

So My Mother Gets a Call...

Looks like these would slow down as we both get a little older, but someone always feels the need to pass on "news" as some call it. This news person can remain nameless because as you know we never make fun of people here and of course it is embarrassing to find your name on the web, as this story points out.

Seems that my Mother got a call informing her that the December 17th issue of the Diboll Free press has a little community news column that carries this one liner reporting a change of address for me and my wife and I copy and paste for your enjoyment:

"Cathy and Carl Wallace are getting ready for Christmas with their cute house on Groesbeck."

Verify at this address if you will:
http://www.dibollfreepress.com/news/2008/1217/news/012.html

I am a pretty busy guy. I suppose I could have got a cute house on Groesbeck ready for Christmas and not even noticed. Being my wife's name is mentioned it is possible that we did it on an off day of hers after she worked the night before, (her own words, "Stupid Day") and she would not have noticed for sure.

I guess I could really have, my mother no doubt thinks it's possible I would purchase a different home just to make trying economic times interesting, confuse the kids coming in for Christmas or who knows what else. I think maybe it's the bull in a China Shop Syndrome. You know what I'm talking about. Bull gets in China Shop. He thinks he just did a little. Everyone else thinks he did a lot. I think this happens to me often. After some event reaches it's conclusion, it could be something at church, a musical gig or even a patient treatment people all come up and say "thanks for all you did!" and I am left standing there thinking, "well I did not really do all that much."

So either I am all ape shat with modesty tonight or these thoughts in my old head are turning to visions of pooping in a China Shop, at church, during a musical gig, a patient treatment or on Groesbeck Street.

Trapped...

We own a mouse trap that catches them live. With the arrival of cool weather I heard suspicious digging in the walls. Somebody was setting up a nice winter retreat. Could not have that, the no vacancy sign is out folks so I baited up this trap with a peanut butter cracker and the next day it had a prisoner. See, if you get in the trap, you can have all the peanut butter you want because one thing is for sure, you can't get out.

Doing the human thing (hey we are voting for Obama after all) we loaded up the trap in the back of the pickup (some mice are big) and drove to a near by dirt road. Not too far, (small carbon foot print) and tried to get a picture as we opeaned the trap.
He/she what ever did not exactly stand still so I only got a picture of the butt.

This mouse hit the ground in the middle of an East Texas sand dirt road, jumped the ditch and went straight into a small hole at the base of tree, right between two roots. It was almost like he knew that hole was there. I doubt that a glance at the tree base by human eyes would have noted this hole, but once he drew attention to it, it was easily seen.

The best comparison I can draw, kind of an allegory of life so to speak is like when you enter a public building and you are about to poop your trousers. A kind of sixth sense kicks in as quickly enter the building, a glance about sends information from eyes to brain that is hard to exactly qualify, over there it says, turn right, past the women's there it is, just in time. It rarely fails us because we all know how embarrassing it is to poop trousers publicly.

Now That You Mention Bigfoot...

I was doing a little yard work and I found this in the yard. It's the scat of a large animal. Not fresh, but I am going to have to start paying more attention around here. Funny that I just mentioned bigfoot in that last post and then I find big poop. Kind of like whenever I mention Dick Cheney on here and then I hear a shotgun blast in the near distance.

Anyway good thing I know how to contact those bigfoot researchers now. Good thing I have some left over Christmas present boxes. I'll pack this stuff up ship it pronto enclosing a note asking if they have ever seen anything like this.

Another busy day. Wish my wife was home to help with this important finding. She thinks I never do squat around here.

Two More Weeks...

One week at the clinic and one week in the classroom in Kilgore and the nightmare of the last three years will be over. Time for the new nightmare of the National Board Exam. There has already been a bit of night screaming going on concerning that.

Maybe I am a little tired. I worked this weekend and it was the easiest weekend this year. I came home early and took a big ugly nap Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I guess night screaming is taking it's toll. Sometimes you just hit a brick wall.

Looks good for this week at the clinic. At least three free meals are on the books, a vendor inservice with lunch provided, the employee picnic and they plan on taking me to lunch. After all the years of shift work there is nothing like day shift workers going ape shat over free food. Despite the smell it creates a very festive atmosphere.

I think Mary should be home from the band trip. Been awful quiet around here without old Bear Wallace. Maybe there will be some pictures to post here, provided they won't get her kicked out of band or something. Me, I understand what musicians do on holiday.
