Fishing Report...
When I was a kid I subscribed to an old magazine called "Fishing Facts." It was a northern publication with info on fishing for a lot of species we did not have in Texas. I liked it because it just did not just show photos of big fish and advertisements but contained educational tactics on how to catch them. On thing they did was if you sent photo proof of a fish that met their lunker standards or caught a limit there were various embroidered patches they would provide to subscribers. This was a good deal for a kid, it was free. I had an old green army shirt that I got my mom to sew the patches on that I earned with my catches.
I almost won a patch today for a limit of catfish. I was fishing by myself with Cathy out of town and I totaled 23 fish. Bite was fairly steady as I fished from 7:30-11:30. I mention all these facts because I use this blog as a fishing dairy and later in the year I will look back and kind of get an overview of how much damage we did to the ecosystem. I know you have seen similar photos to this.

Also let the diary show that I took the canoe out yesterday and caught nothing. I think that's the first time, other that hunting trips in it that I have not boated a fish on a canoe trip. I know you think I win all the time but really I lose more than you know.
This amounted to 5 pounds of fillets. That's enough for about a dozen people or maybe 5 cajuns. A big fish fry is scheduled Oct 8th. stay tuned for details.
Cathy's back later today. Those cats are going to really be in trouble.
